Okay,
let's try this. For our regulars who enjoy delightfully
rambunctious exchanges on the message board, how
about using the new Fencemaster mailing list
instead?
Come on, don't dismiss it out of hand right away,
let's give it a go.
Just imagine, no more deleted messages, no more
falsely attributed posts, and a whole new way to
avoid working. I cleverly set it up using the Qmail
program the server I use employs. Hang on, that's
not interesting. Forget I said it.
What's a mailing list? How does it work?
Don't know what a mailing list is? Me neither until
I set this one up. You need to 'subscribe' by sending
a blank e-mail to this address: fence-subscribe@whatshouldiputonthefence.com
You quickly receive a message back asking you for
a confirmation reply.
When confirmed, any message you e-mail to fence@whatshouldiputonthefence.com
goes to everyone who has subscribed to the list.
People can then reply to you individually, or by
clicking on the Reply to All option in their e-mail
program, reply to the whole list, or just e-mail
their amusing and un-offensive comments to fence@whatshouldiputonthefence.com
for everyone to read.
Any naughtiness and I can remove subscribers.
You can un-subscribe yourself at anytime by sending
a blank email to:
fence-unsubscribe@whatshouldiputonthefence.com
Let's try it! The only things I regret in this life
are the things I haven't done etc. etc.
